Elections
City elections in Cottage Grove are held in November of even-numbered years. City Council elections are non-partisan and candidates run for their seats at large. School District 833 elections are held in November of odd-numbered years.

General Elections
National, state, and county general elections also are held in November of even-numbered years. National, state, and county primaries are held in August of even-numbered years. Minnesota has a consolidated primary ballot that allows voters to make a secret choice of a major party primary.
The 2023 Local General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, for residents within: Mahtomedi, St. Paul Park, Independent School District 833 & Independent School District 834. You can always use the OSS Poll Finder on the MN Secretary of State’s website: Voter Information Portal (mn.gov) to determine if there is something to vote on.
