Fire Prevention and Safety Tips

Warm weather is finally here! While we're all excited to make plans to enjoy some time outdoors with family and friends, our firefighters want to remind you to review rules and tips that can keep you safe. Fireworks

There’s a reason fireworks that explode or fly into the air are illegal in Minnesota. They’re unpredictable and dangerous. And kids are most often the ones who suffer. 

Our police officers will be monitoring fireworks usage more closely this summer and increasing enforcement action for possession of illegal fireworks. Learn more in this flyer from our public safety team.

Programs for Residents

The Department provides a number of Fire Prevention, Arson Awareness and Education programs for residents. These include fire extinguisher training, juvenile fire setter classes, fire escape, presentations and grade school programs.
