Overview

The Cottage Grove Public Safety Board (PSB) is a non-profit organization established in June 1995 as a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code. The board is made up of citizen volunteers from various backgrounds and a liaison from the Cottage Grove Police Department. The PSB meets once a month and works together to promote the partnership between the citizens of Cottage Grove and the Department of Public Safety in support of a safe community. The mission of the PSB is to provide financial support for equipment, training, and programs, to enhance safety, and to provide crime prevention and safety information to the citizens.

Duties

The Cottage Grove Public Safety Board sponsors educational events throughout the year and they participate in community events such as parades, fundraisers, Adopt-A-Road, Night to Unite, and Safety Camp. In addition, the Board provides financial support for the Public Safety Department by purchasing items that are not obtainable due to budgetary restraints and by offering rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for crimes committed in Cottage Grove.
